While in Dummerston, Edgar also visited this covered bridge built in 1862. The West Dummerston Covered Bridge is the second longest covered wooden highway bridge wholly within the state of Vermont, and the longest covered bridge still open to traffic. Edgar also wanted to take cold dip in the river below but was reminded of his delicate paper condition.
